New WHS under budget and on schedule

Construction of the new Walhalla High School is expected to be under the $55 million budget and is likely to be ready on time for the academic year that begins in August of 2015, according to an announcement from Oconee County Schools Superintendent Dr. Michael Thorsland. “We’re excited to report that the Walhalla High School project is still on time and it’s actually coming in under budget. Trehel told us just this week that they found some savings in the construction and we are expecting to see a six figure reduction in the price.” Dr. Thorsland expects that Trehel will release the new high school to the district as early as sometime between February and April.
