No Alarms Raised Following Bridge Inspection

Clemson Mayor Robert Halfacre has stated that the city engineer reviewed the latest inspection report of the 123 bridge connecting Clemson and Oconee County and found nothing concerning. The inspection, conducted last summer on a Jon Boat with an underwater inspection, did not raise any alarms. Halfacre emphasized that the bridge, which is 65 years old, is the responsibility of the SCDOT. The inspection report noted that the bridge railing is too short to meet current standards.
