No Appointment Made by County Council to Oconee Economic Alliance

A divide on Oconee’s four-member governing board was evident again Tuesday night when County Council failed to appoint a representative to the county Economic Alliance, a public-private partnership group that works on economic development.

Chairman John Elliott motioned to name Julian Davis, but neither Glenn Hart nor Don Mize would support the appointment. Hart moved to appoint Mize, but neither Elliott nor Davis agreed.

Council remains a four-member group, subject to in-conclusive 2-2 votes at least until suspended member Matthew Durham’s case is decided in General Sessions Court.
