OC Chamber announces New Board Members

The Oconee County Chamber of Commerce announces new members to its Board of Directors. Sharon Alec, Gene Blair, BJ Gatten, Joey Hawkins, Grant Nicholson and Mike Stancil were recently elected to serve from January 2014 to the end of 2017.  Oconee County Chamber of Commerce executive director Jillian Lusk gives details. “I’ve said it before and I will say it again now, we have one of the best boards imaginable here in Oconee County.” New board members are elected every three years, adds Lusk. “Every three years we have new leaders step up because they all serve three year terms to make sure that we are keeping some fresh perspective, some fresh leadership.” Lusk says this board is dedicated to making Oconee County better. “But right now I can say that our board is wonderful, they are all really dedicated, talented individuals who are very passionate about our community and making sure that the chamber is working the way it should.” With more than 325 members, the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce focuses on improving economic activity and quality of life in Oconee County.
