OC Checkpoint nabs Man wanted on Decade Old Charges

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office says an Anderson County man faces multiple charges after being stopped at a routine traffic checkpoint. Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt gives details.  “Deputies were conducting a license checkpoint Saturday night on Coneross Creek Road near Seneca, when a deputy noticed a Chevrolet Blazer pull up to the checkpoint. A check of the man’s driver’s license revealed that he was wanted by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office on several warrants. He was asked to step out of the vehicle. The Sheriff’s Office says the deputy then noticed the driver give some items to a passenger, as well as a black bag under the driver’s seat that almost fell out of the vehicle. Upon a search of the bag, a case was found that contained various drug paraphernalia. The driver was then placed under arrest and transported to the Oconee County Detention Center, and the vehicle was towed.” 38-year-old Jack Daniel Glenn stands charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance. Glenn was also issued a uniform traffic ticket for simple possession of marijuana.  He also had two outstanding arrest warrants, adds Watt.  “One from November 2003 for possession of stolen goods and an April 2004 warrant for second-degree burglary. Glenn received a personal recognizance bond on the simple possession of marijuana charges, but is still being held at the detention center on a combined $17,500 surety bond on the remaining charges.” This case remains under investigation.
