OC Deputies arrest Easley Man on Weapons Charges

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Easley man early Sunday morning on weapons charges, explains Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt. “21-year-old Tyler Joseph Crutchfield of 104 Wallace Drive was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 2:55am. Deputies were dispatched just before 1am on Dec. 28 to an address on Owens Road in Seneca due to reports of a disturbance in which an argument had ensued between a male and two female’s at the residence with the male, later identified as Crutchfield, waving a gun around. An investigation by the deputies on scene corroborated the information provided to deputies. Crutchfield was arrested by deputies and was charged in warrants with Pointing and Presenting a Firearm at a Person and with Receiving Stolen Goods, as a check on the firearm in question, which is a handgun, revealed that it was reported stolen by the Clemson Police Department. The handgun was then placed into evidence and no other firearms were found at the residence after consent was given to search the residence by the homeowner.” During a bond hearing, Crutchfield was given a combined $15,000 surety bond and released from the Oconee County Detention Center.
