OC Fire Chief comments on death of Chief Wright

Oconee County lost one of its bravest Monday evening, explains Oconee County Fire Chief Charlie King.  “It is with great sadness to announce the death of Friendship Volunteer Fire Chief David Wright. David was killed in a traffic accident on Highway 24 Monday afternoon in Anderson.  David was driving a truck as part of his fathers business when the wreck occurred. David has been a member of the fire service in Oconee County for more than 35 years.  He was currently serving as the volunteer chief of Friendship and a career Captain with the Seneca Fire Department. He was nearing his 24th anniversary with Seneca. Oconee County lost a great man this evening.  Our thoughts go out to his family, friends and those left to carry on.”  The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
