OC Library honors Volunteers

Volunteers were treated to dinner Friday night in recognition for their hard work in the five branches of the Oconee County Public Library. Volunteers from the Book Mobile, Salem, Seneca, Walhalla and Westminster Branches were publicly thanked for their hours of service as part of National Volunteer Week and National Library Week. Two awards were also presented, explains Oconee County Public Library Branch Services Librarian Blair Hinson. “Jean Mercer of the Friends of the Library was awarded the Lucile Bellotte Moore Award that is given annually to one of the Friends. The Sarah Mills Norton Award for our other volunteers went to Aaron Lewis, who is a Book Mobile volunteer. That award is given to the Volunteer of the Year for the Oconee County Public Library.” If you would like to volunteer, just tell your local Branch Librarian.
