OC Sheriff charges Third Man in Marszalek’s Murder

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has charged a third man in the homicide of Richard Alan Marszalek.  On Friday, deputies charged 23-year-old Zack Daniel Patterson of Fair Play with murder of the 61-year-old.  Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt gives details.  “Patterson was arrested on January 14^th at the Oconee County Detention Center on unrelated charges of receiving stolen goods and had a hold placed on him by another agency on unrelated charges in Richland County.  He was still being held at the Oconee County Detention Center and had a bond hearing before a magistrate after being served with the murder warrant.  Bond was denied. Last Friday, 28-year-old Joshua Michael Fulbright and 27-year-old Patrick Grant Covone, both of Westminster, were charged with murder in the death of the 61-year-old Marszalek.  Investigators believe that Marszalek was killed during an altercation that investigators believe occurred sometime between December 27^th and December 29^th of last year at 141 West Spearman Road.” Investigators believe as a result of the altercation that Marszalek received blunt force trauma to the head.  The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation.
