OC Sheriff Crenshaw invites Citizens to become Honorary Members of SC Sheriffs’ Association

Due to the increasing number of citizens who are interested in helping law enforcement and the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office in their vision statement to “Build Partnerships to Promote a Safer Community,” Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw invites citizens of Oconee County to become Honorary Members of the South Carolina Sheriffs’ Association. Individuals and businesses who are interested in joining the South Carolina Sheriffs’ Association can do so starting from Veterans’ Day, November 11th through December 3rd.  Individuals choosing to join the voluntary program can do so for as little as $25, while businesses can show their support for a $50 contribution.  The funding provides critically important technical resources, training, and legislative support on key criminal justice issues.  All contributions are tax deductible as well. “With government funding becoming increasingly difficult to secure, the membership drive has taken on greater importance than ever before,” says Sheriff Crenshaw.  “The funding is vital to helping us carry out our mission of making our communities safer places to live, work, and play.” The South Carolina Sheriffs’ Association provides aggressive advocacy using the strong unified voice of the 46 Sheriffs in South Carolina.  The Association is a key player in shaping state policy on public safety and crime prevention, as well as providing critical training to Sheriffs’ teams and education to member citizen/businesses. Individuals that do not receive a membership appeal and would like more information can do so by contacting the South Carolina Sheriffs’ Association at: 112 Westpark Boulevard, Columbia, SC 29210.  You can also reach the Sheriffs’ Association by phone at 803-772-1101 or online at www.sheriffsc.com.  The South Carolina Sheriffs’ Association would like to remind citizens that the Association does not solicit via telemarketing.  If you receive a phone call from someone claiming to be calling on behalf of the South Carolina Sheriffs’ Association, they would like to remind you that it is a fraudulent call and hang up.
