OC Sheriff posting Most Wanted on Social Media

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is using some new tools to catch criminals, explains Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt.  “Through Facebook, Twitter and GooglePlus we are featuring a most wanted individuals of the week.  Leamon Grant Phillips is the one that we are featuring this week.  You can go to Facebook, Twitter and GooglePlus, our social media sites and see the information there.” The Warrant Division of the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking Phillips on a total of 53 warrants: 49 Sheriff’s Office warrants for fraudulent checks and 4 warrants from the City of Walhalla for forgery.  Watt tells more about using social media.  “Once a week we are featuring a most wanted individual and probably so far 75% of those individuals that we featured have been arrested, just shows you the power of social media.”  If you have any information on the whereabouts of Leamon Grant Phillips, contract CrimeStoppers at 638-STOP or text in your tip to 274637.
