OC Sheriff’s Office announces retirement of Sgt. Jones

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office announces that Sergeant Randy Jones, a 15-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office, has retired.  His retirement was effective July 31st. Jones began with the Sheriff’s Office as a road patrol officer in 1998 and then moved to judicial services about 4 years later.  Before his time with the Sheriff’s Office, Jones was a businessman in Salem with his family business, Jones Convenience Store.  He also served on the Oconee County School Board from 1994 to 1998. A retirement ceremony was held at the Law Enforcement Center on Wednesday, which was attended by Jones’ family, as well as current and former members of the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office.  Jones received several retirement presents, including a plaque presented to him by Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw.
