OC Sheriff’s Office arrests Two Men for Armed Robbery

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men Tuesday morning, both from Oconee County, in relation to an incident in which an armed robbery occurred. A deputy responded to an address on Hutchinson Lane around 4am in reference to a reported assault. The deputy spoke with the victim and observed injuries to the victim. The victim told the deputy that 20-year-old Gregory Dalton Ellenburg of West Union assaulted him and then he demanded the victim’s wallet and took some cash as well as a quantity of Percocet tablets. Ellenburg then reportedly got into the truck with 20-year-old Devan Walker White of Seneca and left the scene. Dispatchers advised that the subjects in question left the scene in a silver truck. Another deputy initiated a traffic stop on 2002 silver Toyota Tacoma on Highway 123 in Seneca. At the scene of the traffic stop, the deputy spoke with both Ellenburg and White and discovered the pill bottle that was reportedly taken from the incident scene but the bottle did not contain any medication. However, during the course of the investigation, a tablet was discovered that appeared to be Xanax along with some marijuana. The only money recovered was $10 in cash that White had in his possession. Both Ellenburg and White were placed under arrest. According to warrants, Ellenburg has been charged with strong-armed robbery for taking the pill bottle and marijuana from the victim by means of force, assault and battery in the first degree for striking the victim about his face and head with his hands and knee during commission of a robbery and for possession of a controlled substance. White stands charged with accessory after the fact of a felony for assisting Ellenburg with knowledge the person had committed a felony.
