OC Sheriff’s Office bracing for Second Round of Winter Storms

With another potential winter storm on the way, the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office stands ready to assist citizens. Even though some vehicles are able to get traction in the snow, the Sheriff’s Office is advising motorists that if they don’t have to travel to stay home, explains Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt. “If you don’t have to travel we recommend that you don’t as travel is expected to become treacherous.” Watt says take care of errands before the snow arrives. “If you have anything that you need to take care of we are advising everybody to go ahead and get that done today.” The Sheriff’s Office has deputies and dispatchers working their normal shifts, ready to respond and assist citizens, concludes Watt. “Obviously here at the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office we have been and we continue to make preparations to continue our normal routine law enforcement operations.” If you have an emergency, call 911; however, if you need non-emergency assistance you are asked to call the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office at 864-638-4111.
