OC Sheriff’s Office conducts Phase Three of “Operation Infinity”

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has begun phase three of “Operation Infinity” which continues the war on drugs in the county. The Sheriff’s Office began the operation Thursday at 8am with a briefing at the LawEnforcementCenter.  Officers from the Salem, Seneca, Walhalla, and Westminster Police Departments assisted the Sheriff’s Office. “Operation Infinity is a reference to the ongoing commitment of the Sheriff’s Office to combat the drug problem in OconeeCounty,” according to Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw.  “We will continue to fight this problem through our enforcement and education efforts to protect all of our citizens and those who visit our county.”  In all, 22 individuals were being sought on a variety of drug distribution charges that stretched from methamphetamine to marijuana to crack to prescription drugs.  So far, 10 of the 22 being sought have been arrested.  Three of the individuals were already in jail at the Oconee County Detention Center on unrelated charges.
