OC Sheriff’s Office files charges in Westminster Homicide

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has filed charges against a Westminster man in connection with Thursday morning’s Westminster area homicide. Murder charges have been filed against 64-year-old R.L. Webb in the shooting death of 50-year-old Steven Gregory Brock at an address on Brock Road. Deputies were dispatched early Thursday morning just before 2am regarding a shooting that occurred at a residence on Brock Road near Westminster. Brock, who resided at the incident location, died from a gunshot wound to the head. Based on evidence gathered during the investigation, deputies had enough probable cause to obtain the murder warrant against Webb. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office believes at this time that there is no danger to the public. The investigation remains active and ongoing as further charges are pending in the case.
