OC Sheriff’s Office reminds Motorists: Save a Life, Don’t Drink and Drive

As you celebrate the New Year tonight, the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office encourages you to save a life by not drinking and driving. Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt says if you plan to drink have a designated driver. “Our message is very simple; don’t drink and drive. If you decided that you want to celebrate by consuming alcoholic beverages and you are 21-years-of-age or older, we recommend you find a place to stay for the night where ever you are going to be celebrating at if you are going to be drinking we would just encourage you to stay there. Have a designated driver, obviously, or call a taxi if you need to, but the message is don’t drink and drive. Don’t put your life or someone else’s life in danger.” An increased law enforcement presence will be on the roads tonight through the weekend.
