OC Sheriff’s Office still investigating Burglaries in Westminster

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office needs the public’s help identifying suspects in two separate burglaries in the Westminster area. Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt says the two burglaries are very similar in nature. “So far we haven’t made any arrests but they are very similar in nature and probably the good thing from what I have been able to see is we haven’t had any re-occurrences of these particular situations elsewhere since they occurred originally.” Help identify the individuals in these burglaries, continues Watt. “A man and woman, who we are seeking the identify of in relation to this, if you go to our website at www.oconeelaw.com, you are going to see one of the individuals’ pictures, but apparently when both individuals came to the residences, one was on Oakway Road, the other one was on Coffee Road, apparently the male inquired about the property lines, when they arrived.” Watt offers this advice for when a stranger comes to your door. “If someone comes to your door or they drive into your yard and you don’t know who they are, you have the right as a homeowner, not to answer the door or step outside of your residence.” If you have any information on the identity of the individuals involved in these burglaries, call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC. You don’t have to give your name and all information is confidential. If your tip leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a cash reward.
