OC Sheriff’s Office to participate in No Shave November

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office will once again be putting down their razors to raise awareness of men’s health issues be participating in No Shave November to raise money for St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital. “The men in the Sheriff’s Office participated in No Shave November last year and I am once again endorsing our deputies’ participation in this initiative,” says Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw. “No Shave November helps to bring awareness to men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer, and to help raise money for a great cause. Uniformed deputies are not allowed have beards per our policy but we will be making an exception during November.” Deputies who decide to participate will pay a minimum of $20 and they can raise as much money as they want through any donations they receive from citizens. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is asking that any donations that citizens want to make be made to deputies in person or by stopping by the Sheriff’s Office during normal business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:30am until 4:30pm. The Sheriff’s Office is asking citizens and residents not to call the Sheriff’s Office to make donations as this may tie up the phone lines that are used for official law enforcement business. If you are interested in receiving a tax deduction for your donation, you are asked to write a check made payable to St. Jude’s Research Hospital.
