OC United Way hosting Free Resource Event

The United Way of Oconee County invites the community to a free Resource Information Event today, June 19, in downtown Seneca. From 9am to 2pm at the covered shelters of Norton-Thompson Park, residents can speak with representatives from SC Works, Mountain Lakes Access Health, Golden Corner Food Bank, Our Daily Bread, SC Thrive, and Oconee Speech and Hearing. Attendees can also shred personal documents from 9am to noon, thanks to Shred 360. Consumers can bring five boxes or bags to shred free. In addition, residents can get a free vision screening courtesy of the Salem Lions Club. A Pill Take Back Day hosted by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office where attendees can safely dispose of medications is also planned for the free event
