Oconee County Council Approves Third And Final Reading For Next Fiscal Year’s Budget

(Seneca, SC)————–Oconee County Council held their regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday night in Council Chambers and during the meeting, Council approved the third and final reading of next year’s almost $50 million dollar budget, which begins with the new fiscal year on July 1st. 

Oconee County Council Chairman Julian Davis commented on the budget process, which included a 4% percent pay raise for county employees, along with other items. 

Davis was complimentary of the chairman of the Budget Committee, District One Councilman John Elliott, in regards to the budget process. Davis said that Council did a lot of research and put a lot of great effort into understanding what are the needs of Oconee County, especially the vehicle replacement plan, improvements to the County parks and providing more money into economic development.
