Oconee County Council Meeting Tuesday Night

Oconee County Council will hold their first meeting of February tomorrow evening at 6:00PM in council chambers at the Pine Street government complex in Walhalla.

On their agenda is a recommendation to apply up to $300,000 of American Rescue Plan funds toward 15.7 miles of a regional greenway trail. The project would involve Oconee County, the City of Clemson and Clemson University, as well as the Town of Pendleton.

Another item on the agenda is the consideration of purchasing $1.2 million worth of fire fighter breathing equipment for Oconee Emergency Services.

A potion of the meeting has also been set aside for public comments regarding ongoing discussions of county redistricting plans.
