Oconee County Council Meets Tonight

The Oconee County Council will convene for their regular meeting at 6:00pm this evening. Proclamations recognizing October as Disability Employment Awareness Month, commemorating the library’s 75th anniversary, and honoring Pastor Ted and Vera Edgar are planned at the beginning of the meeting.

Key agenda items include:

  • Approving a special source revenue credit agreement with Books for Less, LLC and Miles 302 Palmer LLC.
  • Amending the sign control ordinance of Oconee County.
  • Authorizing another special source revenue credit agreement with Camden Management Partners, Inc.;
  • Voting on committing matching funds for a justice assistance grant, accepting a grant for Meyn Americas’ project, and purchasing vehicles for Fire/Emergency Services and Sheriff’s Office.
  • Discussing an intergovernmental agreement for fire protection and other emergency response services between Oconee County and the City of Walhalla.

The meeting will conclude with an executive session to discuss matters related to economic development, contractual issues and fire protection services. The public is invited to attend.
