Oconee County Council Proposed Balanced Budget

Oconee County proposed a balanced budget of $67 million for the upcoming year, with $47.4 million projected in local tax collections. Property taxes are expected to make up 75% of the county’s revenue, with notable allocations of $11 million for the sheriff’s office and $6.2 million for solid waste. The county administrator, Amanda Brock, plans to aggressively pursue outside government grants, including federal funding, and is anticipating higher state aid. The budget will undergo public hearings and readings before a final vote on June 6.
