Oconee County Emergency Services Receive “Fire Safe South Carolina” Designation

Oconee County Emergency Services is proud to announce its designation as a
2022 “Fire Safe South Carolina” Community.

To earn the “Fire Safe South Carolina” designation, Emergency Services personnel
completed 200 hours of training to improve data quality, deliver in-home safety
visits and further develop skills in risk reduction and assessment. Personnel were
trained to educate the community in fire safety, as well as general health and
outdoor safety, and how to work with community partners to minimize unsafe
risks within Oconee County.

Fire Safe South Carolina congratulated Oconee County, along with 131 other fire
and rescue agencies across South Carolina, in a press release on April 4, 2023.
Fire Safe South Carolina intends to formally recognize each agency at an award
ceremony during the June Fire-Rescue Conference in Myrtle Beach.

Oconee County Emergency Services is proud to have received this designation
and will continue to work with community, state and federal partners to keep
Oconee County “Fire Safe”.
