OCONEE COUNTY RECEIVES FUNDS THROUGH EMERGENCY FOOD AND SHELTER PROGRAM (EFSP)

OCONEE COUNTY HAS BEEN CHOSEN TO RECEIVE A TOTAL OF $22,985 IN
FEDERAL FUNDS UNDER THE EMERGENCY FOOD AND SHELTER NATIONAL
BOARD PROGRAM PHASE 38 OF THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY AND MANAGEMENT
AGENCY (FEMA).

THE LOCAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR THE EMERGENCY FOOD AND
SHELTER PROGRAM WILL MEET TO DETERMINE HOW THE FUNDS AWARDED TO
OCONEE COUNTY ARE TO BE DISTRIBUTED AMONG EMERGENCY FOOD AND
SHELTER PROGRAMS RUN BY LOCAL SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS IN THE AREA.
ONLY NON-PROFIT AGENCIES MAY APPLY, NO INDIVIDUALS.

FOR AN AGENCY TO APPLY FOR A PORTION OF THESE FUNDS

THEY MUST:

  1. BE A PRIVATE VOLUNTARY NON-PROFIT OR UNIT OF GOVERNMENT, 
  2. BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE FEDERAL FUNDS, 
  3. HAVE AN ACCOUNTING SYSTEM, 
  4. PRACTICE NON-DISCRIMINATION,
  5. HAVE DEMONSTRATED THE CAPABILITY TO
    DELIVER EMERGENCY FOOD AND/OR SHELTER PROGRAMS, AND
  6. HAVE A VOLUNTARY BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

THE MEETING WILL BE HELD VIA ZOOM AT 1:00 P.M. ON TUESDAY,
JANUARY 26, 2021. ANY AGENCY INTERESTED IN APPLYING FOR FUNDS
SHOULD CALL THE UNITED WAY OF OCONEE COUNTY AT (864) 882-9743 NO
LATER THAN WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 20 AT 3:00 P.M. TO BE INCLUDED ON THE
AGENDA.
