Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Anderson County Woman on Drug Charges, Including Trafficking in Methamphetamine

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Anderson County woman over the weekend on two drug charges, including a charge of Trafficking in Methamphetamine.

30 year old Carrie Renee Porter of Highway 187 north was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 10:30 am this past Saturday. Porter was also charged with one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Clonazepam).

A deputy from the Uniform Patrol Division, on routine patrol in the Fair Play area Saturday morning, observed a green Ford Expedition parked in a business parking lot close to E. Fairplay Boulevard. The business was closed at the time and the vehicle did not have a license plate displayed.

The deputy made contact with the lone occupant of the vehicle, identified as Porter, who was slumped over the steering wheel. Porter gave consent for the deputy to search the vehicle. The deputy discovered a quantity of Methamphetamine and Clonazepam inside of the vehicle.

Porter was placed under arrest and was transported to the Oconee County Detention Center. The vehicle was towed away from the scene.

Porter was released from the Detention Center after posting bond on December 13th. She was given a combined $40,000 surety bond on the two charges obtained by the Sheriff’s Office.
