Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Seneca Man in Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor Investigation

A Seneca man remains in jail today, at the Oconee County Detention Center, after his arrest Monday on charges related to a Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor investigation.

James Arthur Davis, Jr.

27 year old James Arthur Davis, Jr., of Overbrook Drive, was given a combined $203,000 dollar surety bond during a bond hearing. Davis, Jr. has been charged with 10 counts of Disseminating Obscene Material to Minors, two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor – Second Degree and one count of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
The investigation that led to the charges against Davis, Jr. came about as a result of a separate and unrelated investigation which involved the victim in the Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor investigation.

An Investigator with the Violent Crimes Unit, which is assigned to the Criminal Investigations Bureau, gathered evidence that showed that Davis, Jr. had sent to the victim, a teenager, obscene material.

Based upon evidence that was gathered during the investigation, the Investigator also determined that Davis, Jr. had sex with the teenager and that Davis, Jr. also supplied the teenager with Marijuana.

Davis, Jr. will have to wear an electronic monitoring device, as a condition of bond, should he be released from jail.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation that led to the charges against Davis, Jr., as well as the separate and unrelated investigation previously mentioned. In order to preserve the integrity of both investigations, and that of anyone underage, the Sheriff’s Office will not release any information that could, either directly or indirectly, identify any minors in these investigations.
