Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Seneca Man on Drug and Weapon Charges after Execution of Search Warrant

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the Seneca Police Department, arrested a Seneca man yesterday on drug and weapon charges after the execution of a search warrant.

42 year old Gary Landon Medlin of Evergreen Circle was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 1:04pm yesterday.  At this time, Medlin remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center on a combined $45,000 surety bond.

Agents from the Narcotics Division, Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Division and the S.W.A.T. team, along with officers from the Seneca Police Department, executed the search warrant on a structure located at an address on Evergreen Circle at Shadow Lane in Seneca around 9:30am Wednesday.  The search warrant was obtained by Narcotics Agents based upon the controlled purchase of narcotics this year at the structure on Evergreen Circle by an undercover operative working at the direction of the Sheriff’s Office.   

During the execution of the search warrant, agents from the Narcotics Division seized a quantity of narcotics as well as a firearm from the structure.  As Medlin was being booked into the Detention Center, Detention Officers discovered a quantity of narcotics on his person.

Based upon the evidence obtained as a result of the investigation, Medlin has been charged with one count each of Distribution of Heroin, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of Heroin, Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Xanax) and Introduction of Contraband into a Detention Facility.
