Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Seneca Man on First Degree Burglary Charge

A Seneca man remains in jail on $55,000 bond, after his arrest early Friday morning on charges of 1st-Degree Burglary and Domestic Violence – 3rd Degree.

37-year-old Brandon Lysle Vanblarcom, of Keowee School Road, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 3:54am Friday.

A Deputy responded to an address on Brookwood Drive, near Seneca, in regard to a report of a fight that was in progress. After arriving on the scene, the Deputy began an investigation after making contact with Vanblarcom and the victim, who is Vanblarcom ex-girlfriend.

The Deputy observed a physical manifestation of injuries on the victim. According to
information obtained during the investigation, Vanblarcom made entry into the apartment of the victim, without the victim’s consent, in order to retrieve a dog from the apartment that belonged to him.

Vanblarcom attempted to retrieve the other dog in the apartment which belonged to the victim; however, he was not able to do so. Vanblarcom also assaulted the victim during the incident, according to information obtained during the investigation.

Vanblarcom was placed under arrest and the dog was placed back into the apartment.
Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital for treatment of her injuries.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
