Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Seneca Man On Multiple Charges After Wednesday Afternoon Pursuit

(Seneca, SC)——–The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Seneca man after a pursuit yesterday afternoon in Seneca.

Daniel Timothy Falu was arrested and transported to the Oconee County Detention Center after the pursuit concluded at the intersection of West North First Street and Oak Street in Seneca.

Falu has been charged with Improper Display of a Vehicle Tag, Reckless Driving, No South Carolina Driver’s License, Failure to stop for a Blue Light, Failure to Register a Vehicle and Operating a Vehicle Uninsured.

A Sheriff’s Office deputy attempted to stop the vehicle that Falu was driving yesterday afternoon around 1pm for reckless driving and improper display of a tag.  The attempted traffic stop occurred on the Highway 123 by-pass near Wendy’s, according to Chief Deputy Kevin Davis.

The vehicle did not stop for the blue lights and the pursuit began and concluded after the vehicle that Falu was driving lost control and hit two other vehicles.  Falu tried to flee the scene on foot but was eventually taken into custody.

According to Chief Deputy Davis, deputies did activate the Pursuit Alert System and the Sheriff’s Office was notified that those in the area who had downloaded the app were notified of the pursuit.

The Sheriff’s Office recommends that those who live or travel frequently in Oconee County download the Pursuit Alert app.  Information on the app is available at www.oconeelaw.com.
