Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Seneca Man on Narcotics and Criminal Solicitation of a Minor Charges

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Seneca man yesterday on two outstanding arrest warrants related to two separate investigations.

36 year old Justin Turner Cheek of Samuel Drive was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at 2:15pm Thursday after being arrested in Walhalla. Cheek was transported to the Oconee County Detention Center by a deputy from the Warrants Bureau on charges of Distribution of Methamphetamine and Criminal Solicitation of a Minor.

The narcotics charge was obtained in relation to a quantity of Methamphetamine that was located inside of a vehicle during a traffic stop on April 27th of this year on Smith Dairy Road near Highway 59. Cheek was the driver of the vehicle that was pulled over in the traffic stop. The amount of Methamphetamine seized was approximately 1.88 grams.

The Criminal Solicitation of a Minor charge stems from an investigation by the Criminal
Investigations Bureau. In that investigation, Cheek attempted to solicit sex, as well as explicit images, from an online account that he believed was operated by a 14 year old. The incident occurred on February 25th of this year.

At this time, Cheek remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center on a combined $65,000 surety bond.
