Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Holds Ceremony to Honor K-9 Officers Argo and Farrah

On Monday, The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office held a ceremony to honor two K-9 officers, Argo and Farrah, who recently passed away. Argo’s End-of-Watch occurred on May 16th, 2023, and Farrah retired on May 8th, 2023, with her End-of-Watch on July 15th, 2023.

The ceremony included speeches from Sheriff Mike Crenshaw and Lt. Tommy Crompton, who oversees the Sheriff’s Office K-9 program. Plaques containing paw prints of each K-9 officer were presented to their handlers, First Sergeant Alan Sayre and Corporal Brandon Meadows.

Honorary Deputy Brock Chappelear donated $100.00 towards the purchase of a new K-9 officer. Sheriff Crenshaw emphasized the significant impact K-9 officers have on the agency, and the Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Oconee County Sheriff’s Foundation, will accept donations for the new K-9 officer.
