Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Honors and Recognizes Deputies and Detention Officers during Recent Promotion Ceremony

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office held a promotions ceremony on November 24th to honor and recognize Deputies and Detention Officers who not only received promotions, but in some cases, were awarded for their response in saving lives.

The following deputies were recognized and received a Life Saving Award:

Deputy Charlie Smith – Uniform Patrol Division – Use of Narcan for patient suffering from an overdose

Corporal Austin Watson – Uniform Patrol Division – Use of Narcan for patient suffering from an overdose

The following deputies were recognized for promotions from the Uniform Patrol Division:

Corporal Justin Pelfrey – Promotion to First Sergeant – Charlie Shift

Master Patrol Deputy Rashad Crooks – Promotion to Corporal – Charlie Shift

Deputy Chris Johnson – Promotion to Master Patrol Deputy – Charlie Shift

The following Detention Center Officers were recognized for promotions in the Detention Center:

Leo Kotun – Promoted to Master Corrections Officer for Transport

Chaz Henry – Promoted to Master Corrections Officer for Transport

The following deputies, many of whom are members of the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard, were recognized for their participation in the funeral for Greenville County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Conley Jumper. The deputies were awarded a Community Service Ribbon*:
