Oconee Heritage Center counting on Piggy Bank

The failure of the 1-cent capital project sales tax leaves the Oconee Heritage Center more than $400,000 short to renovate and improve its museums. But the downtown Walahlla museum has not given up. In a press release, the Oconee Heritage Center stats, “If you support the Oconee Heritage Center and still want us to have your pennies, drop off your loose change and help us fill our donation jar.” The goal is to fill that jar with change by Saturday, Nov. 15.
