Oconee Memorial Hospital Foundation Manager Announces Formation Of Cancer Division Board

(Seneca, SC)—During last week’s announcement of a donation of $35,000 this year to the Breast Care Center from the Lake Keowee Dealerships and Harley Davidson of Greenville, Cortni Nations of the Oconee Memorial Hospital Foundation announced that a Cancer Division Board is being created, which will be similar to the Foundation’s Hospice Advisory Board.

“We will model it the same but the role will be to raise funds and friends for our cancer patients in our community and the services that are being provided,” according to Nations. “We think that this will create some additional synergy around cancer care in our community.”

Nations says that there are a lot of services that the Cancer Institute provides here that a lot of citizens do not realize and there are a lot of needs that can be touched upon with the community support that is available.

The Board will vote on the initial founding members, with their term to begin in January of 2020. The Board will initially consists of seven members but as many as 13 can serve on the Board, according to the by-laws. The Board will be modeled very similarly to the Hospice Advisory Board, according to Nations.
