Oconee Public Libraries Extending Hours After Labor Day

All branches of the Oconee County Public Library will be closed on Monday, September 7, for Labor Day. Starting Tuesday, September 8, the libraries’ hours will be slightly extended.

  • The Main Branch in Walhalla will be open Mondays and Tuesdays, 10-6, and Wednesday through Friday, 10-4.
  • The Seneca Branch will be open Mondays and Thursdays, 10-6, and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 10-4.
  • The Westminster Branch will be open Mondays, 10-6, and Tuesday-Friday, 10-4;
  • The Salem Branch will be open on Mondays, 10-6, and Tuesday-Friday, 10-4, closing from 12-1 for lunch.

“While these hours aren’t quite what they were before the pandemic, they will allow for at least three weeknights being open after 5 p.m., when many people are getting off work,” according to Blair Hinson, Library Director.

The library still offers free WiFi in the parking areas of the library 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For more information, check out oconeelibrary.org.
