OCPL names New Branch Services Librarian

The Oconee County Public Library has promoted Blair Hinson, manager of the Seneca Library, to the position of Branch Services Librarian. He succeeds K’Lani Green, who recently resigned to take a position in Nashville, Tennessee. The Branch Services Librarian supervises the branch managers, and is responsible for overseeing library services provided at the library’s branches. The Branch Services Librarian is also responsible for identifying trends in library services and implementing new services in the library system, and is responsible for library outreach, such as the library’s newly created Little Free Libraries and the Bookmobile. The Oconee County Public Library currently has three branches in addition to its headquarters library in Walhalla; one in Salem, one in Seneca, and one in Westminster, as well as a Bookmobile. Hinson holds bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in History from Clemson University, and a Master’s in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina, and has served as Branch Manager at the Seneca Library for nearly five years. He also teaches online history and humanities classes at Tri-County Technical College, where he has taught since 1997.
