OCPL presents Star Wars Science Saturdays

The Oconee County Public Library continues its monthly Science Saturday events in April with a Star Wars theme. Youth Services Librarian Stacie Powell says the library is thrilled to offer the youth of Oconee County the opportunity to experience fun “STEAM” (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) related programs such as the monthly Science Saturdays. For April, students will be learning about the science involved in Star Wars by building a Hans Solo Blaster, Luke’s Land Speeder, and your very own ‘droid’. The Star Wars Science Saturday event will take place on Saturday, April 11 at the Walhalla Library from 9:30am until 10:30am. The activities are geared for ages four and older. No registration is required and, as always, Oconee County Public Library programs are free. For more information, check out the library’s Facebook page and website at www.oconeelibrary.org. This project is made possible by a Library Services and Technology Act grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services administered by the South Carolina State Library.
