OCPL to celebrate Star Wars Day
The Force is strong at the Oconee County Public Library (OCPL). Special Star Wars events are planned at the Salem, Seneca, and Westminster branches to celebrate Star Wars Day on Friday, May the 4th. “Star Wars movies, graphic novels, books, and e-books are some of our most checked out items,” says circulation assistant Kayla Rucker. “It only makes sense we would celebrate something that reaches all ages and reading levels.” Calling all Jedi to unite in the Light! It’s time for the Sith to Rise again! Unleash your inner Padawan at the Seneca branch at 4:30pm and build your lightsaber to complete your training. Show everyone how strong you are in the Force. Trainees are welcome to wear their favorite Star Wars clothing or costumes. This program is designed for ages 4-12. If you can’t make it to the Seneca, Salem and Westminster branches, the OCPL will be giving Star Wars bookmarks and pencils out to everyone who checks out a Star Wars movie or book on May 4, (as supplies last).
