OCSO Arrests Attempted Murder Suspect

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of an attempted murder suspect, Eric Raymond Lavoie, following a stabbing incident that occurred over the weekend. Lavoie, 51, was allegedly involved in a dispute with his wife at a residence on Misty Hollow Lane when he brandished a knife. When another man tried to intervene, Lavoie reportedly stabbed him and fled the scene before deputies arrived. The injured man was airlifted to a hospital for treatment.

Lavoie has a prior conviction for a violent crime. Lavoie faces charges of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. He was arrested on Wednesday, January 17, and is currently detained at the Oconee County Detention Center pending bond and judicial proceedings.
