OEA earns “Award of Excellence” by Expansion Solutions Magazine

The Oconee Economic Alliance has been recognized as a “Top Five” economic development organization for Metal Fabrication by Expansion Solutions Magazine in their 2015 Awards of Excellence. The “Top Five” Awards of Excellence designation recognizes economic development organizations that have shown exceptional progress in recruiting new businesses to their market and working with existing industries. The awarded locations were chosen because of the support system offered to businesses, as well as recent activity and potential growth that can be created in each area. Strategic locations, pro-business climates, investments made in improving infrastructure and the availability of buildings and sites were among the top deciding factors in choosing these locations. “The Metal Fabrication industry within Oconee County is a strong part of our local economy with companies such as Borg Warner and Schneider Electric,” commented Glenn Buddin, chair of the Oconee Economic Alliance board of directors. “We all should take pride in our economic development team earning this award designation as they work hard to get our community’s economic development message out to corporate decision-makers and it is great seeing their efforts continue to get noticed by not only those corporate leaders but also economic development trade publications.” Expansion Solutions Magazine announced award winners within the following categories: Aviation and Aerospace, Food Processing and Agribusiness, Inland Ports, Logistics, Metal Fabrication, Ports Transportation and Warehouse/Distribution. The Oconee Economic Alliance was one of only two economic development organizations from South Carolina to be recognized in any category. Expansion Solutions Magazine is designed to inform key site selection consultants and corporate real estate brokers about progressive communities and the benefits offered in them. Read more at:
