Off-Term Election This November to Fill Vacancy on Westminster Council After Mefleh’s Passing

As many as 500 people showed up to pay final respects to Westminster City Councilman and restauranteur Yousef Mefleh yesterday.

The 67 year-old passed away on Saturday from a cardiac related event, according to Coroner Addis. Westminster Mayor Brian Ramey said he is blessed to have know Yousef, and is not ruling out the possibility of honoring Mefleh by naming the new Hall Street Park in his memory…

An off-term election to fill the non-partisan seat left vacant by Mr. Mefleh’s passing will be on the ballot this November, in order to keep expenses low and simplify timing, according to Westminster Administrator Kevin Bronson.

Qualifying begins at noon on September 2 and ends on September 12 at noon.
