Officer-involved Shootings increasing in SC

When 19-year-old Zachary Hammond was shot and killed by a Seneca Police Officer Sunday night in the Hardee’s parking lot off Bypass 123, it was the latest in an increasing number of officer-involved shootings in South Carolina this year. Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis reported that Hammond was shot during an undercover drug investigation. Hammond was shot twice in the chest after accelerating toward the officer in his vehicle. SLED is investigating the officer-involved shooting, which is the 28 this year in South Carolina.
