OHC offering Music Lessons

Would you or your child like to learn how to play an instrument? Young Appalachian Musicians and Evening Music Programs at the Oconee Heritage Center in downtown Walhalla are starting again soon, says curator and director Leslie White. “This year we are offering guitar with Jim on Tuesdays starting Sept. 22 with the beginner class at 4pm and the intermediate class at 5pm. We have dulcimer with Jim Gano on Tuesdays starting Sept. 22 with the beginner class at 6pm. Clawhammer banjo with Andy Brooks on Wednesdays starting Sept. 23 at 6pm and Fiddle with Andy Brooks on Saturdays starting Sept. 26 with beginners at 8am, intermediate at 9am and advanced at 10am.” Classes are very affordable, continues White. “It’s only $60 for 6 once a week lessons. If you do not have an instrument, you can rent one for only $25 for 6 weeks. Payment for lessons must be paid before classes start in order for you to secure a spot and to insure there are enough students for a class. Classes are limited to six students. No refunds will be given for missed lessons.” To sign up or for more information call 864-638-2224.
