OJRSA Board Approves New Contract with Director

The Oconee County administrator and a Fair Play man addressed the stalled Sewer South Phase Two during Monday’s meeting of the Joint Regional Sewer Authority.

County Administrator Amanda Brock made two requests which the OJRSA approved, while Luke Moore posed several questions including who would be required to hook up to piped sewer once the extension project is finished. On behalf of the county council, Brock requested and received approval to apply to outside county government sources for funds to make up the shortfall between what a contractor bid and available funds locally.

Following an Executive Session just prior to the end of their meeting on Monday night, the Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority Board approved a pay increase of $2,500 for Executive Director Chris Eleazer, which brings his annual salary to $119,386. The Board unanimously approved the three year contract with Eleazer.

Eleazer has been with the OJRSA since 2017, when he came on board as an assistant to now retired director Bob Winchester.
