Oktoberfest Starts Tonight in Walhalla

Oktoberfest Weekend at Sertoma Field in Walhalla officially starts at 6:00p.m. this evening with a ribbon-cutting – and then it is to be fun, carnival rides, food, beer, and crafts for three days, plus a fireworks display on Saturday night.

The seat of Oconee County, Walhalla honors it’s mid-19th Century Bavarian heritage with the annual event. Some attendees embrace the spirit by wearing lederhosen, even if the temperatures make wearing shorts uncomfortable.

Daily admission is $5 dollars for adults; $3 dollars for children. Kids 3 and under get in free.
