OMC announces date for Golf Ball Drop

Oconee Medical Center announces that at noon on October 23rd, golf balls will rain down on the front lawn of the hospital.  This is part of the hospital’s annual Golf Classic on October 24th at Keowee Key and Cross Creek Plantation to raise money for the Oconee Medical Center Foundation, explains executive director Cortni Nations. “We are selling 200 balls for $50 a piece, lots of people like to go in together and purchase a ball.  Those balls will be numbered and a helicopter will fly over at noon and drop those balls on the front lawn of OMC.  We will have a big bull’s eye painted and the closest to the bull’s eye will win cash.  If we sell all 200 balls, they will win $2,500 for first place or 25% of the proceeds.  We also do a second and third place, so you are bound to win something and it is just a fun way to come out and support all of our health care services.” All purchases are tax-deductible.  Nations says balls are still available for purchase.  “Lots of our employees really get into this, they have bought a lot of balls already, but we still have some available.  As I said, it is just a fun thing to add to our Golf Classic.  You can go in with a friend, buy a ball, and have a great chance of winning.  Of course more importantly know that you are giving to a good cause.”  To purchase a golf ball or register for the Golf Classic, call 864-885-7562.  The deadline to purchase golf balls is October 22nd.
