OMC Foundation’s Golf Ball Drop coming Soon

The Oconee Medical Center Foundation is preparing for its third Annual Golf Ball Drop to be held October 23. Three lucky winners the past two years have walked away with a nice bounty of cash in the Foundation’s newest, and most interesting, fundraiser to date. For a tax-deductible gift of $50, participants receive a numbered golf ball that will be dropped out of a helicopter above the vacant field across from Oconee Medical Center on Memorial Drive. The ball landing closest to the center of the bull’s eye wins the top prize. The next two closest balls win the second and third prize respectively. With only 200 golf balls being sold, the odds of winning are better than the lottery.  Prizes for the three closes balls to the target are: 1st Place = $2,500 or 25% of proceeds; 2nd Place = $1,000 or 10% of proceeds; or 3rd Place = $500 or 5% of proceeds (if all 200 balls are sold). The Golf Ball Drop will be held at noon on October 23 when a helicopter will circle above the field and drop the purchased number of golf balls onto a painted bull’s eye. Participants are welcome to watch the event, but do not have to be present to win. Winners will be announced on Thursday, October 24th, at the conclusion of the Foundation’s 6th annual Golf Classic.   Proceeds will benefit *Lifeline Emergency Response Units for the elderly and disabled, purchase Safety Equipment for children in Oconee County through Safe Kids Upstate, and support the Mountain Lakes AccessHealth dental program in Oconee County and the greater Clemson area. Golf balls are available now. Claim yours in the Gift Basket in the Oconee Medical Center Patient Tower with cash, check or credit card, or contact Libby Cox in the Foundation office at 885-7562.  Make checks payable to Oconee Medical Center Foundation. Friends may also collaborate to purchase a golf ball and split the proceeds evenly.
