Our Daily Rest waiving White Flag

A white flag is waiving outside of Our Daily Rest in Seneca. “When it is going to be 32 degrees or below and it is going to be hazardous to anybody outside, hypothermia and stuff like that, then we will have it out.” Our Daily Rest operations manager Ben Tichenor says the United Way of Oconee County sponsors the white flag program. “The United Way sponsors us and helps us out with that, so it gives us the option to do that for the community.” Guests must adhere to the strict rules of the homeless shelter, concludes Tichenor. “We will have the white flag out probably about 2pm, they can eat dinner at 6pm and be no problem as long as they’re sober and pass a drug test, we will be happy to take them in as long as we have room.” Forecasters predict temperatures will fall to roughly 10 degrees after midnight tonight.
